Simple improvement: Bind your programs
An easy way to use the computer much faster is to have quick binds for your most used programs.
On Windows, funily enough, this is built in in a sense, as win+1, say, opens/brings to focus the leftmost program in the taskbar win+2 the second one, etc.
On Mac, I've been using BTT (site looks slopped but the program is old and reliable) and set mine to the f-keys, e.g. C-<f1> opens the browser. I believe Hammerspoon is a free program with which one can do the same.
On NixOS, I set up binds only in StumpWM. I've only used Wayland with stock Gnome on my gaming PC so far, so I have no bindings there yet.
Once I switched to this system, I cannot imagine going back to the alt-tab method as default. Greatly recommended.
